Yorkshire Puddins’
Ive been stuck on English Tiktok, seeing all the Sunday Roasts and yorkshire puddings, that craving hit hard. I also wanted to be able to say.. IF I even found myself in the situation of dating an English Dude that I could make a mean roast to go along with a Yorkshire Puddings, idk if this is quite a flex that im thinking it is. But it was great to treat my friends with a home cooked meal
Yorkshire pudding/ popovers
Prep: 5 minutes Total: 45-50 minutes
Serves about 8-10 puddins’ depending on the size of your baking vessel.
Ingreidents:
6 tbsp oil you could also use lar
3/4c milk room temp or warmed
3-4 eggs, room temp
1c flour
Butter, melted ( I use unsalted)
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ up to ½ shredded parmesan cheese Cheese
Tips: if youve ever had a dutch baby pancake, it sort of reminds you a lot of that but in a much savory application
Set oven to 420 degrees
To a muffin tin, cake pan or popover baker if youve got one, add about 1 tbsp of oil to the hole.
To a large bowl or bowl with a spout, add the milk, eggs, flour, butter, salt, pepper and cheese, mix until smooth and combined.
Bake in the muffin dish filled with oil in oven for about 5-8 minutes until the oil is hot, THIS STEP MOVES QUICKLY and requires hot oil so be careful, remove the pan from the oven, pour about 1/2c of the batter into each slot with oil, it will bubble and have a small little reaction, thats totally normal, pop this back into the oven, if youre worried about it baking over the sides of your dish, put a sheet pan underneath to catch any jumpers. Bake for 45 minutes up to 50 minutes. Its going to double or even triple in size, let it brown and get a little flaky, it might create kind of a crater shape, but it will still be great, just make sure to keep your oven shut and no peaking before its ready to get best baking results. Remove from the oven, best served warm, enjoy!
