Creamy Sausage Dip Pasta
Creamy Sausage Dip Pasta for days when you can rely on fridge and pantry staples!
Serves 4-6
Prep:5 minutes Total:30 minutes
Ingreidents:
1lb ground beef (any fat) or spicy italian sausage
1 onion, roughly chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
5 cloves of minced garlic
½ tbsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp Paprika
1-2 tsp Red pepper flakes (2 if you like it spicy, like me)
1/4c Pepperoncini, roughly chopped ( try sub for some olives, or maybe even a cornichon!)
1 8oz block cream cheese, ( mascarpone or ricotta)
1/2c Parmesan cheese, some reserved for garnish
Marinara sauce, or try subbing rotel, fresh or canned tomato!)
1lb of pasta ( I recommend something long like spaghetti or bucatini) but anything will work!
Garnish: more grated parmesan, and some freshly chopped basil
Serve with a good bread for dipping!
Tips: if you use the premade italian sausage you dont have to add the extra seasonings I did, but more flavor never hurt anyone! You might also have to additionally season any canned or fresh tomatoes if using!
If you are using a fattier sausage you might want to drain some of the fat before adding onion.
To a large pan over medium to high heat, add the sausage to begin browning along with salt and pepper, add the onion and cook until the onion is translucent and the mean is browning, about 8-10 minutes. Add the garlic, seasonings, and pepperoncini, mix together, then add the cheeses, when the cheese is incorporated and creamy looking, add the marinara or sub of choice.
In the meantime boil your pasta to package instructions while the sauce finishes, drain the pasta and add it to the sauce, toss the pasta in the sauce. Garnish with some more parmesan and basil, serve and enjoy!
